6. Episode VI: Boba Fett

Boba Fett is the classic example of a Star Wars character who was wasted. He had a strong introduction in The Empire Strikes Back, with his cool look that included a jet back and a badass looking mask. He also had an air of danger about him especially after Darth Vader warned him there will be no disintegrations.

Fett also proved capable as he was the only bounty hunter who was able to track down The Millenium Falcon and he was able to bring Han Solo to Jabba the Hutt. Many assumed his role would be bigger in Return of the Jedi and perhaps he would be revealed to have a connection to a major character in the saga. Some of the crazy rumors that went around were that he could be Darth Vader’s brother or even Luke’s mother.

Turns out he was neither and didn’t hold much significance to the overall story. Fett was accidentally hit in the jetpack with a spear by the semi-blinded Han Solo during the rebels escape from the sail barge and that set him flying into the Sarlaac Pit. That was it. Fett, after years of speculation, was in the final film for about five scenes. This was a major disappointment to fans across the world, and a real disservice to a character who had so much more potential. Hopefully, he does turn up in season two of The Mandalorian and we get to see more of one of the coolest looking characters in all of Star Wars.
