5 bold predictions for The Mandalorian season 2
By Nik Edlund
1. There will be a major death
In the first season of The Mandalorian, we had to suffer through to major character deaths. First the hardworking, reluctant companion of Mando, the Ugnaught Kuiil was killed by the Empire toward the end of the first season. In the season finale we saw the former bounty droid IG-11 sacrifice himself to save Mando, Baby Yoda, Cara Dune, and Greef Karga. Just when us fans were getting used to and loving these new characters, they were killed off and left us mourning and feeling stunned.
There’s a good chance that we get even more heart-wrenching deaths in season 2. The two most likely candidates are Cara Dune and Greef Karga. These two appeared intermittently throughout the first season, with both having different paths on their way to becoming basically partners in crime with Mando.
Cara Dune was a former acquaintance who helped Mando out of a jam and later joined forces with him when he decided to meet with Karga in the season finale. Karga was first Mando’s employer and then basically an enemy, as he put a hit on his head. He later joins forces with him and helps him fight his way through Moff Gideon’s forces.
These characters will likely see plenty of screen time in the second season and will grow even closer to Mando and Baby Yoda and to us fans as well. To see one of them die fighting for their friends would be a likely scenario and one that fits in with what this show has done in the past. Whether it’s Karga or Dune, chances are high that one doesn’t make it to season three.
