5. Baby Yoda will end up in the hands of the enemy

The whole driving force of season 2 of The Mandalorian will be Din Djarin trying to return Baby Yoda to the Jedi where he obviously belongs. There will surely be plenty of trials, tribulations, and detours along the way and that goal may not eventually happen until much later seasons. However, don’t be shocked if The Child ends up in the hands of the enemy in a season-ending cliff hanger.

Mando and Baby Yoda will encounter plenty of enemies in season 2. Moff Gideon will be seeking his revenge on them for nearly killing him and the Empire, or whatever remnants of it exist, clearly have some plan for the young force user. Mando also has a mark on his head and many bounty hunters across the galaxy will want to take him in and cash in on the reward. While Baby Yoda ending up in the hands of a fellow bounty hunter is possible, (looking at you Boba Fett), ending up with the evil Moff is more likely.

Gedeon will be heavily involved in this season and actor Giancarlo Esposito even said he has a lot of action this year that involves him using the darksaber. He’ll be a constant nuisance throughout the season and will end up on top when season 2 comes to a close. He’ll have The Child in his possession and the first half of season three will be set up as a rescue mission.
