Trick or treat? Rahul Kohli’s back at it again with his live-action Ezra Bridger teasing
By Mia Johnson
Rahul Kohli previously clarified that he wouldn’t be playing a live-action Ezra Bridger, but it seems like he’s back to trolling the masses again.
Please, Rahul Kohli, don’t play with us Star Wars fans’ hearts. Unfortunately, the actor is back at it again, sharing a post on social media that once again has fans curious about his involvement in a Star Wars series.
Previously, Kohli had shared several tweets that made it seem like he’d be appearing in season 2 of The Mandalorian. After teasing that the show was the only thing people should watch in the month of October, it made fans highly suspicious about whether he would be in the new series or not. He even put The Mandalorian announcement ahead of the show he’s actually confirmed to star in, The Haunting of Bly Manor, which made fans even more suspicious. On top of that, he shared a side-by-side photo of himself and Ezra. But after the tweets blew up, he shared an apology video saying that he was just posting that in good fun… all while not-so-inconspicuously playing The Mandalorian theme in the background.
Now, on Sunday, Kohli shared another tweet that’s absolutely enough to stir the pot once again. The tweet was simple enough, one thanking the fans for watching Bly Manor over the weekend. But, of course, he just had to wear a Lucasfilm shirt and have his laptop turned on to a screengrab of Ezra Bridger on in the background.
While it’s known that Kohli is a Star Wars fan (and a Star Wars Rebels fan [and an Ezra Bridger fan at that]), we can’t help but point out all the suspiciousness going on right now. Sure it could all be in good fun, as he confessed last time, but coming back a few weeks later to do it all again? Now we’re starting to suspect if his trolling is rolling into “true” territory.
By the way, how many Star Wars fans have actual “Lucasfilm” shirts? Of course, many people have shirts with the Star Wars logo, titles of the movies or just pictures of their favorite characters. But I’ve yet to run into many (or any) fans who actually don the Lucasfilm logo on a shirt. It’s completely possible that he just happened to buy this shirt, but could it have been given to him for being part of a Lucasfilm production… such as The Mandalorian? He’s also been replying to a lot of tweets with Star Wars gifs, so it gets for interesting by the minute.
So many Clone Wars/Rebels characters have been teased to appear in a live-action capacity, and so for some fans, it’d really be a treat to see Ezra appear in the Star Wars universe in a live-action manner. Some even think that Ahsoka Tano will appear in episode 5 of The Mandalorian season 2, so the evidence is really beginning to build up.
There’s only a few more days to go before The Mandalorian begins streaming. The first episode will hit Disney+ on Oct. 30, and we’ll have to keep an eye out each episode if Kohli does appear in the series.
