A TV spot for The Mandalorian season 2 is showing us a little bit of extra footage.
As we approach the middle of the month, that means the clock is counting down to the first episode of The Mandalorian season 2. The series will begin streaming on Oct. 30, and while there’s not a new trailer out, there is a new TV spot out.
While TV spots don’t always give you a ton of new footage, they still do (at least) provide a little something new. And that’s exactly what we got with the latest teaser for The Mandalorian season 2.
The Mandalorian Twitter account shared the newest clip on Monday, and we can see the extended scene that features Mando and The Child ringside at a Gamorrean fight. Previously, we saw that Mando was about to cause some trouble at the fight. And in this extended look, it shows the mayhem that he causes. And we even see Baby Yoda make a getaway in his little pod. You can see the TV spot for yourself in the clip below.
It’s possible that in this scene, Mando is trying to get some information out of this cyclops-like alien. But we don’t know if he’s be looking for more information about what The Child is, or if he’s inquiring about something else entirely. But from the looks of it, we do see that there are still people out to get him. And, ironically enough, the bounty hunter is now the one with a bounty on his head.
We also see that during the violent encounter, Baby Yoda covers up his pod and zips away as quickly as he can. It’s a good thing to see that the two have bonded in this way. Well, at least the two have developed enough rapport together to have a getaway plan. If The Child is poised to be as smart and wise as Yoda, then he likely knows at his young age how to protect himself (and Mando) from danger. We saw this, after all, from Baby Yoda a couple of times in season 1 — especially when we found out he can use the Force.
While it hasn’t been completely confirmed, it looks like this scene might also be a connecting point to the reveal of Boba Fett and possibly even the Hutt family. If Mando is to return to Tatooine (and if that’s where the fight is indeed taking place), it would certainly be the perfect springboard to introducing either of these characters. Of course, we know that Star Wars is going to be keeping a lot under wrap, so we’ll just have to wait for season 2 to begin so we can see what happens.
