2. Bo-Katan Kryze

Bo-Katan is a beloved character,  but when fans first met her in The Clone Wars, she was Pre Vizsla’s right-hand and a member of the radical terrorist group of Mandalorians known as Death Watch. She and the rest of Death Watch teamed up with Maul to form a criminal empire that would dethrone the pacifist Duchess Satine and take control of Mandalore, thereby restoring Mandalorian culture to its warring roots.

When Maul killed Pre Vizsla and took control of Death Watch and Mandalore for himself, Bo-Katan refused to follow Maul. Even though Bo-Katan helped dethrone Duchess Satine, Bo-Katan tried to free Satine–even turning to Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi for help–to defeat the outsider Maul.

Maul killed Satine in front of Bo-Katan and thrust Mandalore into civil war. It was revealed that Bo-Katan was Satine’s sister, making everything that transpired all the more emotionally complicated and tragic.

At the end of the Clone Wars, Bo-Katan contacted the Jedi and the Republic to come to the aid of the Mandalorian people. With their help, Maul and his forces were defeated during the Siege of Mandalore.

Mandalore’s liberation was short-lived, though, as the Empire formed shortly after and Mandalore fell to the Empire’s submissive rule. With the help of the Ghost crew almost two decades later, Bo-Katan played an integral role in freeing Mandalore from the Empire and united the various Mandalorian clans.

Her journey after this is unknown, although mentions of the Great Purge and Moff Gideon’s possession of the Darksaber hint at a dark ending. There are also rumors that Bo-Katan will appear in the second season of The Mandalorian and maybe even get her own spinoff show with Cara Dune.
