The third episode of The Mandalorian season 2 has officially arrived, and it brought some serious action, new characters, and even a tease of the appearance of someone highly anticipated.

Chapter 11 in the series, titled “The Heiress” sees Din Djarin continue his search for other Mandalorians, reuniting Frog Lady from last week’s episode with her husband, (barely) keeping Baby Yoda out of danger, and meeting some new faces.

To Mando’s surprise, he meets three new Mandalorians at Trask: Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff), Kosha Reeves (Sasha Banks), and Axe Woves (Simon Kassianides). Luckily for Mando, they help save him and The Child from a group of Quarren.

Din Djarin is able to make a pact with Bo-Katan and her crew, helping them steal weapons from an Imperial ship in exchange for information about a Jedi (named Ahsoka Tano). Now that Mando is on the quest to give Baby Yoda to the Jedi, it looks like we’ll finally be meeting the famous character from Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

If you’re familiar with The Clone Wars, then chances are you also know Bo-Katan pretty well. If not, here’s why she’s important to the Star Wars universe.

Who is Bo-Katan Kryze?

Much like Ahsoka Tano, Bo-Katan Kryze is a well-known character from The Clone Wars. She made her first appearance in season four of the animated series, and her last in the seventh and final season. Additionally, she appeared in Star Wars Rebels for the fourth season episode “Heroes of Mandalore.”

As revealed in the new episode of The Mandalorian, Bo-Katan is a Mandalorian. However, to  Din Djarin’s displeasure, she’s the kind that takes her helmet off, as are her two followers.

If you know her history in the animated series, you’ll know she’s been associated with the Nite Owls (as mentioned in the new episode), as well as the Death Watch and the Shadow Collective.

When Bo-Katan meets Mando, she explains to him that she was originally from Mandalore, and that she fought during the Great Purge. She also drops the bomb on Mando that the reason why he never takes off his helmet and follows strict rules is because he’s one of the Children of the Watch.

I, for one, definitely need some more history on Din Djarin and Mandalorians in general this season. Unfortunately when looking at IMDb, it appears Bo-Katan is only listed for this one episode right now. However, Kosha Reeves will appear in several.

Bo-Katan actress

So who plays Bo-Katan? That would be actress Katee Sackhoff. You might recognize her for her roles as Kara “Starbuck” Thrace in Battlestar Galactica or Dana Walsh in 24. Additionally, she actually voiced the Star Wars character in both The Clone Wars and Rebels. Awesome!

Chapter 11 definitely set up a ton for The Mandalorian season 2, and we can’t wait to see what happens next. New episodes air every Friday morning on Disney Plus.
