Is Fennec alive in The Mandalorian?
Coming off last week’s episode of The Mandalorian, “The Jedi,” viewers were likely expecting to have more of a filler episode this time around. As you’ll recall, chapter 13 saw the live-action introduction of Ahsoka Tano (played by Rosario Dawson), and revealed The Child’s real name and a bit of his backstory. All in all, it was an awesome episode.
This week, chapter 14 is titled “The Tragedy,” and for good reason. Though it was definitely more eventful than a simple filler episode, it was a bit troubling! For starters, Mando managed to let Grogu get stolen by a pack of Dark Troopers while they were on Tython. Now, our favorite little Baby Yoda is in the hands of Moff Gideon, and we can only guess how that’s going to go.
The good news? Din Djarin officially met Boba Fett (yay!), and Boba has agreed to help rescue Grogu. So at least it looks like there’s a solid chance Mando and Baby Yoda will be reunited this season.
Besides Boba Fett’s appearance, another Star Wars character was featured this week, one we actually saw in season 1 of The Mandalorian.
Is Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian season 2?
Fans will remember that the character Fennec Shand was introduced back in the season 1 episode “The Gunslinger,” however she was seemingly killed after bounty hunter Toro Calican shot her.
Well, if you tuned into the chapter 14, you’ll know that Fennec is actually alive after all! She explained to Mando while meeting on Tython that she was found by Boba Fett after being shot, who was able to save her by using cybernetics. She exposed her waist, which showed one part of her stomach that was replaced by technology. Sweet.
Who plays Fennec in The Mandalorian?
The actress who plays Fennec is Ming-Na Wen. You might recognize her from her role as Melinda May in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Linda Harris on Two and a Half Men. She’s also an accomplished voice actor, playing parts in animated series The Batman and Phineas and Ferb, among others.
Fun fact: Ming-Na Wen also voiced Mulan in the original 1998 animated movie and its 2004 sequel, along with in various video games and shorts.
Welcome back to The Mandalorian, Fennec!
