Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian is set for a second season special coming soon.

The week is upon us. The final episode of The Mandalorian season 2 comes in just a few days. Yes, season 2 episode 8 will be dropping on Disney+ this Friday, Dec. 18. But techincally, that won’t be the end of The Mandalorian content. No, there won’t be any more new episodes of The Mandalorian season 2, but another related special is returning yet again.

Today, Star Wars announced that Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian will be making a return again. Dropping just a week after the season finale, a new special will be out highlighting the behind-the-scenes efforts of season 2. That means this Christmas Day, Dec. 25, there will be just a little bit more Mandalorian in store.

The season 2 Disney Gallery is going to be a bit different compared to how it was organized for the first season of the show. For season 1, Disney released eight themed episodes that included roundtables with actors and directors as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the show — essentially making it a mini-docu-series. This time, for season 2, there will just be a one-hour special called Making of Season 2, meaning there won’t be any additional episodes after that.

Despite there not being as much content this year compared to last year’s Disney Gallery, the special should be exciting none the less because there are so many exciting aspects of season 2 to touch on. Most importantly, we’d love to see what it was like for the new actors to work on set. Remember, this season, we had some interesting ones, beginning with episode 1. There’s Timothy Olyphant as Cobb Vanth, Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan, Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, and Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett.

Speaking of which, it’d be interesting to hear from Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni as well, especially when it comes to how they decided to implement these characters this season. Will they reveal more about the bigger connected live-action TV universe they’re trying to build, or will they just keep it to what we’ve seen this season? (We’re assuming it’s the latter.)

On top of all that, we still haven’t seen the finale of season 2, so we have no idea if there are still any new characters who’ll be showing up or if there are any huge twists in store. There still may be a Jedi who coms to rescue Grogu, and we can’t wait to see if that ends up happening before the finale episode is over.
