Rosario Dawson’s Twitter activity has some suspicious that she may be confirming a live-action Sabine Wren in the Star Wars universe.
Fans have been delighted by Star Wars animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars Resistance. And the television shows did so much to build upon the lore of the Star Wars universe with stories that the movies would never have the time to tell completely.
That included stories of the likes of characters Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger — all animated characters with a fascinating story to tell, and one that isn’t over quite yet. We’ve seen already that Ahsoka Tano was brought back — from the animated world to the live-action one — through The Mandalorian season 2, but fans always had a growing suspicion that she wouldn’t be the only person to do that.
Both Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger have been heavily speculated as being next in line to get the live-action treatment, and it seems Ahsoka Tano actress Rosario Dawson is just fanning the flames. Very early today, the Star Wars Stuff Twitter account shared a screenshot of a notification, which you can see below.
The notification shows Dawson liked a tweet from Star Wars Stuff that reported Sabine Wren would be in the Ahsoka series. This info, we covered yesterday on Dork Side of the Force. The Kessel Run Transmissions podcast reported that Sabine Wren would be featured in the live-action Ahsoka series. And the series would be covering unfinished Rebels plotlines instead of there being an animated Star Wars Rebels sequel.
Dawson’s activity could mean many things. Of course, fans are hopeful that this is a small nod to us that we’re on the right track, and Sabine will indeed be featured in the Ahsoka series. It could also confirm the scoop that the series will be the spiritual successor to Rebels. On the other hand, it’s also possible that Dawson simply liked the tweet either because it was related to Ahsoka or she liked the idea of the theory. There’s no telling what her actions mean for sure, but it is fun to see her give a subtle acknowledgment to this rumor.
In a recent interview, The Mandalorian star Gina Carano said that Jon Favreau likes to keep it quiet when it comes to what he’s producing. So it will probably a while before we get the true synopsis of the show. But if it is a continuation of Star Wars Rebels, that will certainly be an exciting series to watch.
