At the end of season 2 of The Mandalorian, Grogu left with Luke Skywalker. Here are some potential outcomes for his future.

When we last gazed upon The Child (a.k.a Grogu) in The Mandalorian season 2 finale, we saw him leave in the arms of Jedi Master Luke Skywalker to complete his training. This was a heart-wrenching moment that pulled Grogu away from Din Djarin, who at this point, had basically become his father. This was Mando’s purpose with Grogu, and he fulfilled his quest that the Armorer sent him on.

The question that was on everyone’s minds’ after their eyes dried out and the episode was watched subsequent times, was what happens to Grogu now? He wasn’t seen in the sequel trilogy and the immediate worries were that something horrible had happened to our wee little green friend.

Here are five theories about what could happen to The Child next, now that he’s away from Din Djarin and in the care of Luke Skywalker.

1. Grogu leaves the Jedi Order to become a Mandalorian

This is the most likely fate for Grogu and the one that makes the most sense seeing how his story progressed through season 2. Grogu clearly is going to go and train with Luke Skywalker. Grogu is a powerful Force-wielder, and while Luke’s teachings will help him control his power and control his anger, one aspect of his life that will be hard to overcome at this point will be his attachment to Din Djarin.

There’s a strong chance that Grogu will sense Mando in danger through one of his meditations and go the same route his master did and leave his training early to help his friend out. Grogu could also end up just permanently sticking with Mando at this point, leaving his Jedi training behind. This would make Grogu’s return happen much sooner and the show could bring him back at some point in season 3. If he begins his path to becoming a bounty hunter, with his Force abilities, he could become the best in the galaxy.
