2. He is killed by Kylo Ren

This is easily the darkest fate for Grogu on this list but it is, unfortunately, one of the more likely. If Grogu is off training with Luke and ends up going to his new academy, chances are very high that he was still there when Kylo brought the whole thing down. One thing that we aren’t really given a solid answer to in the lore of Star Wars is how long exactly it takes a Padawan to become a Jedi.

In the prequels, it seems like it’s from a young child to somewhere in the late teens or early 20s. However, Luke’s journey only takes a matter of a few years and Rey’s is even quicker at one year. So it is possible that Grogu has become a Jedi Knight at this point and is off on a mission somewhere.

He also could be at the temple and even asleep when Ben Solo is raging and burns it all down. He could have even been struck down by an enraged Solo, and killed by a lightsaber just like the younglings he used to hang with at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant were. While that fate is very depressing, it does follow George Lucas’ statement that Star Wars is like poetry, and it rhymes.
