One artist has imagined what it would be like for Kylo Ren to meet The Child.

The Mandalorian season 2 spoilers incoming! As many now know after watching the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian, little Grogu is going to be off on a new adventure now that Luke Skywalker has come to his rescue and agreed to train him in the ways of the Jedi.

What we don’t know, unfortunately, is what happens to Grogu after that. Well, all the answers should be made clear by the time we get to season 3. But in the meantime, the best fans can do is speculate, and there are many who are wondering if Grogu will ever come into contact with another one of Luke Skywalker’s padawans — Ben Solo.

Some have speculated that after Ben Solo/Kylo Ren turns to the Dark Side, it’s Grogu who becomes one of the casualties as a result of the Knight of Ren’s killing spree. But a new piece of fan art is imagining a whole new possibility for Grogu and Kylo Ren’s future: what if Grogu was brought onto the First Order?

More from Baby Yoda

In the fan art by @spdrmnkyxxiii, which you can see here on Instagram, Kylo Ren and The Child look to be aboard a First Order ship. (You can see that in the amazing details in the background.) And front and center, Kylo Ren holds the little Baby Yoda gently at his side, almost tucked away by Kylo’s sweeping black cape.

Of course, with this being fan art, it’s all just pretend. As the artist wrote in the caption, “My girl asked me to make a piece with Grogu and Kylo Ren because they are her favorite #StarWars characters lol.”

So for this reason, we can’t sweat the little things about this art, such as the age discrepancy between Grogu in the series and the Grogu here with Kylo Ren. If Grogu were to join Kylo Ren, he would have to look a little bit older, seeing as there’s about a 30-something year timespan between the era of the New Republic (which The Mandalorian takes place in) and the First Order. And even then, Grogu would probably still be too young to do anything officially with the First Order (thank goodness).

So, best-case scenario for this fan art: Kylo Ren and Grogu were the best of friends at Luke’s Jedi academy. And just like Din Djarin, not even Kylo Ren could allow bad things to happen to Baby Yoda.

Again, this is just all fun and speculation based on the fan art. But the possibilities about a meeting between Grogu and Ben Solo is still on the table. And since Grogu was able to survive the massacre by Ben’s grandfather Anakin Skywalker on Coruscant, we’re sure Grogu would have another ace up his sleeve when at Luke’s academy.
