The Mandalorian season 2 gets the Honest Trailer treatment in hilarious video

When it comes to The Mandalorian, we’re looking at near-perfect television. Not 100 percent perfect, as nothing can truly be. But between seasons 1 and 2 of the Disney+ exclusive show, you have to admit, it’s some of the best, top-notch Star Wars content in the history of the franchise.

That being said, it isn’t exempt from being made fun of for some of the more common tropes and gags the show likes to pull. And because of that, The Mandalorian became the latest subject of hilarious scrutiny from Screen Junkies in their newest Honest Trailer video.

For anyone unfamiliar with Honest Trailers, these are YouTube videos of varying lengths, parodying movie and TV trailers by highlighting the glaringly cliche and niche aspects of whatever they’re reviewing. Of course, it’s all done in good fun. And nothing is really meant to be harsh criticism.

So with a series so good as The Mandalorian, and especially its second season, it’s quite amusing to see the folks over at Screen Junkies picking apart something so perfect that still has some funny flaws. For example, in the season 2 video, they joke about how the whole premise of the show revolves around Mando making deal after deal with every person he encounters. Or how in any scene with stormtroopers, they always seem to give themselves away no matter what.

Of course, with Screen Junkies releasing a season 2 trailer for The Mandalorian, that means they also released a trailer for season 1 — that came out about three months ago, just ahead of the release of season 2. That one is just as funny, and you can check it out over on their YouTube channel here.

But in the season 2 video, they also make a funny-yet-true point about Disney and Lucasfilm creating (or at least plan on creating) content that really sets the bar high.

With spinoff shows like Ahsoka and Rangers of the New Republic on the way, will we ever get tired of this type of thing? As they say in the video, if we can watch it over and over again from the likes of Marvel, Walt Disney Studios and Pixar, then it’s probably a sure bet that we’ll have a high tolerance for more Star Wars shows as well.

So, for now, all we have is The Mandalorian. But more live-action TV adventures are soon to come. And we can’t wait to see The Book of Boba Fett next, so it can get the Honest Trailer treatment too.
