For many Star Wars fans, the core of the whole franchise is the ancient battle between the Jedi and the Sith. While much can be learned about both of these groups on opposite sides of the Force through the films and television series, a new book is set to explore the mysteries of the Sith from the perspective of none other than Emperor Palpatine himself.
The Secrets of the Sith is Marc Sumerak’s follow-up to his earlier book about the Jedi. In The Secrets of the Jedi, an aged Luke Skywalker shares his knowledge about the Jedi, commenting on topics such as Anakin Skywalker’s fall to the dark side, Force ghosts, Jedi Force abilities, and much more.
What made Sumerak’s earlier book stand out was that it exists as a non-fiction book within the Star Wars universe, compiled (or at least finished) by Luke Skywalker sometime after his short-lived training of Rey and his Force-projection on Crait to face Kylo Ren.
The Secrets of the Sith will follow a similar format, existing as a non-fiction book with the Star Wars universe that provides valuable information about the Sith from an expert on the subject. With Emperor Palpatine as its author, it will be interesting to find out when he wrote in this book and what he deems important for people to know about the Sith.
According to the exclusive reveal on StarWars.com, the book is “filled with many elements that some consider to be unnatural, including arcane knowledge, incredible artwork, and other interactive features, such as pop-ups, booklets, and lift-the-flap inserts.”
Furthermore, fans will get to read Palpatine’s thoughts on Sith Force abilities and well-known dark side users such as Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Asajj Ventress, Count Dooku, and more.
The book is scheduled to be published by Insight Editions in August. You can see more about it in the latest This Week in Star Wars show down below.
