Star Wars sneakily revealed a new look at character Fennec Shand today in the upcoming series, Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Shand’s character (played by Ming-Na Wen) originated in The Mandalorian season 1 where she was one of the bounties the Mandalorian helped to catch. At the end of her episode, it was teased that Boba Fett was coming to the captured bounty’s rescue, and season 2 all but confirmed that.

By the next season of The Mandalorian, Fennec switched sides to team up with the Mandalorian and Boba Fett. And by the end of the series, it was revealed that she would be part of the spinoff series called The Book of Boba Fett, headed to Disney+ at the end of this year.

But that won’t be the first time we see Fennec Shand this year. The character is also going to be appearing in the Bad Batch animated series (which is a spinoff of The Clone Wars) beginning May 4, 2021. Fans noticed she appeared briefly in the sizzle reel for the series. And Wen later confirmed that it was indeed Fennec.

Now, Reddit has noticed another sly appearance by Fennec. The character appeared in the Instagram Story of the official Star Wars Instagram account. The image was included as a promotion for Women’s History Month, highlighting some of the most popular female characters from the animated universe.

As you can see, Fennec is looking just like her live-action self. She even has the orange ribbon in her hair that Ming-Na Wen adored about her character in The Mandalorian. According to her interview with StarWars.com, the orange ribbon represented the fox — which is an animal that she compares Fennec to.

The one big difference about this character will be that she’s much younger in The Bad Batch compared to The Mandalorian. Since The Bad Batch takes place just after The Clone Wars, this means we’ll get to see what Fennec was like before she became the expert sniper that she is in The Mandalorian.
