Ezra Bridger has been one of the buzziest Star Wars characters as of late, and he hasn’t been in a single Star Wars movie! The character was a staple of the Star Wars Rebels animated series, and his mysterious disappearance has led many people to wonder what happened to the Force-sensitive character.
With the introduction of the Star Wars television universe on Disney+, that opened up the possibilities of what stories could be told within the Star Wars universe. And we’ve even seen that characters can go from the animated world to the live-action one thanks to these new series on Disney+. We first saw that with Ahsoka Tano and Bo-Katan Kryze in The Mandalorian, and now many are wondering who else will be the next animated character to get the live-action treatment.
Ezra Bridger is certainly one of those characters who would do well to crossover into the live-action world — that is, if he’s even still alive. And many of the recent rumors have been saying that Ezra definitely will be appearing in the live-action Star Wars universe in the very near future. At first, the rumors have been saying that Ezra will appear in the Ahsoka series, which is rumored to be a spiritual successor to Star Wars Rebels. But could there be something more in store for Ezra?
Is an Ezra Bridger series coming to Disney+?
In this day and age of television, nothing is off the table — which has some wondering if Ezra Bridger will even get his own spinoff series. And just recently, there’s been a rumor out there saying that both Ezra Bridger and Grand Admiral Thrawn would be getting a series together.
This was mentioned at the end of a Kessel Run Transmissions podcast episode, where one of the hosts said briefly, “Make sure that you guys subscribe to Disney+ for that Ezra and Thrawn series coming out very soon.” There was no further discussion after that, just the mention that they would talk about it later.
So, what are we to make of this? Well, right now, there’s no way we can definitely say Ezra is getting his own series based on a brief sentence spoken in a podcast with no source. As we always say, scoopers can be hit or miss when it comes to their reports. So nothing is set in stone until series or casting announcements are made in the media.
If it were to happen, this would fill in the gap to explain what happened between Ezra and Thrawn. And at the same time, it would allow the Ahsoka series the space to explore something completely different than the “searching for Ezra story arc.” But either way it goes, it does look like we’re one step closer to bringing Ezra Bridger into the live-action universe. It’s just yet to be announced in which manner.
