11. Han Solo (Charlie Cox)

Speaking of Han Solo and superheroes — Charlie Cox may have been a front runner for the coveted role, if only he hadn’t picked up a certain trait from his time as Daredevil on Netflix’s popular series.

Tom Holland isn’t the only actor to mess up in the audition room, but Cox’s audition room mistake had nothing to do with laughing at a droid. Unfortunately, during his time portraying the blind superhero Matt Murdock, Cox adopted a tick to where he wouldn’t make eye contact on screen.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cox revealed the embarrassing experience in the audition room. “Halfway through it, the casting director stopped me and said, ‘Why aren’t you looking at me?’ […]  I realized I had gotten into a habit of not making eye contact, because the only thing I had done for two years is play someone who is blind. I never got invited back, probably because they couldn’t figure out why I was acting like a complete idiot.”

Given the nature of Star Wars’ super-secretive audition process, Cox isn’t 100 percent certain he auditioned for the role, but he seems pretty confident in that assertion. Regardless of whether he auditioned for Solo: A Star Wars Story, his audition story is one for the books.
