14. Qi’ra (Tessa Thompson)

Like with most characters in the Star Wars franchise, a lot of actors auditioned for the role prior to the final pick being selected. The role of Qi’ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story was no different. One such actress who went through the audition process for the character was Tessa Thompson.

Though rumors of Thompson’s audition are not officially confirmed by her, articles have purported that she tested for the role in London back in 2016. Given her work with Marvel, it would make sense for the actress to have been in consideration for the role or at the very least seen for an audition. She would have been at the forefront of Disney’s mind, given that she had just wrapped on Thor: Ragnarok during the audition process for Qi’ra. Though, her role in Marvel may have been the deciding factor for her not to cross into the Star Wars franchise.

With Taika Waititi set to direct an upcoming and currently untitled Star Wars project, it seems like the perfect opportunity for the two to reunite on the set of a Star Wars film. The franchise could benefit from Thompson’s incredible and memorable performances.
