16. Han Solo (Tom Felton)
Back in the early days of Disney’s hunt for the perfect actor to portray the young version of Harrison Ford’s Han Solo, Malfoy actor (of the Harry Potter franchise) Tom Felton was allegedly auditioning for the role. For anyone who recalls the buzz surrounding the search for the right Han Solo, it was reported that nearly every actor in the right age range that even vaguely resembled Harrison Ford was set to audition for the role.
One such report from The Hollywood Reporter claimed that Tom Felton and a slew of other British actors in their mid-to-late 20s had been looked at for the role. While many fans may not be able to see Felton as anyone other than the role he embodied in his adolescence, it is easy to imagine him utilizing that same swagger for a Han Solo audition.
It would have been nice to see Star Wars “kept in the family” as his on-screen father from Harry Potter, Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), voiced The Inquisitor in Star Wars Rebels. In the end, it wasn’t meant to be and Alden Ehrenreich landed the titular role in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Felton went on to appear as Julian Albert in The CW’s superhero series The Flash.
A few years later he did appear opposite Daisy Ridley in an adaptation of Ophelia.
