16. Finn and Poe Dameron

When Finn and Poe first meet in The Force Awakens, Finn is just desperate to find a way out of the First Order. Poe is his first opportunity simply because Poe is a pilot. Finn can’t fly a TIE fighter on his own, and Poe just happens to be in the right place at the right time. Finn wants to find a way of escape, but he finds so much more in Poe. The two develop a mutual respect for one another, and as members of the Resistance, they often work together on missions.

When Finn decides to go to Canto Bight to find the codebreaker to stop the First Order from tracking the Resistance ships in The Last Jedi, Poe is the one to cover for him and Rose Tico while they’re away. Their relationship strengthens throughout The Rise of Skywalker, as the two discover more about each other’s commitment to their cause. They disagree at times on how to handle the challenging situations they find themselves in, but in the end, they’re the perfect team to lead the remaining Resistance to fight the Final Order on Exegol.
