Warning! This story contains spoilers for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier episode 2.

Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been the next crown-jewel series of Disney+, and the latest episode dropped just this past Friday. And while it did find a way to outdo Star Wars’ The Mandalorian in its premiere, in this episode, they were a bit kinder to Star Wars fans this week.

In episode 2, titled “The Star-Spangled Man,” there’s a super subtle nod to Star Wars and its creator, George Lucas. This Easter egg was spotted by Reddit user DigDoug2319, who shared the find on the Marvel Studios subreddit.

As the user shared, this Easter egg takes place at the very end of the episode. Following their dispute with the new John Walker Captain America, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier decide to take matters into their own hands when it comes to the terrorist group, the Flag smashers. And that means they’re going to have to visit their old nemesis Helmut Zemo for help. When the camera cuts to Zemo in his cell, we see the CCTV camera on his cell is labeled “Zelle 2187” — the numeric Easter egg that’s a nod to Star Wars.

You can see the Easter egg for yourself in the screenshot shared on Reddit.

The number of Zemo’s cell, 2187, first appeared in A New Hope when Han Solo and Luke Skywalker go to rescue Princess Leia. Of course, Han and Luke eventually find the cell she’s captured in is #2187. And, according to Wookieepedia, that number is a reference itself. The number is reportedly a reference that George Lucas included to pay homage to a favorite short film of his, titled 21-87.

Later, this number appeared in the sequel trilogy in a big way. During The Force Awakens, we hear Captain Phasma address one of her stormtroopers as FN-2187. This, of course, is the name that John Boyega’s character goes by until Poe comes up with the name “Finn” for him. So this is just another fun reference to A New Hope and the short film that Lucas admired.

As for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it should be interesting to see how their chat Zemo will play out. And fans will just have to wait and see what happens next when the third episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier drops this Friday on Disney+.
