2. Anon

Anon stars Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried along with Colm Feore, Mark O’Brien, Sonya Walger, Joe Pingue, and Iddo Goldberg. The film is set in a future world where technology reigns supreme. This dystopian world forces its citizens to be implanted with an ocular device that records everything that the person sees and does so that government officials to access their lives when needed. Essentially, police then look at the footage to discover who is truly guilty and innocent in crimes.

Detective Sal Friedland (Clive Owen) briefly encounters a woman (Amanda Seyfried), which seems to trigger an error or glitch in his own personal implant which doesn’t give him any information on the woman. He decides to check his own device and watch the encounter but is shocked when she is not featured in his recording of events. Soon after, he is given a handful of cases that involve murders where the victims do not have records of their deaths from their points of view. Instead, their ocular devices showed their violent murders from the killer’s point of view, which doesn’t give any details away as to the murderer’s true identity.

After investigation, Sal uncovers that there are anonymous (“Anon”) people who have the technology and power to alter the devices to edit certain memories or delete them altogether. He believes that the woman is one of the Anons so he goes undercover as a businessman who sees a prostitute and wants the memory deleted. Just as his fellow policemen are ready to apprehend her, one of his colleagues is killed, seemingly by her and the movie takes a twist that you won’t see coming.
