What Happened to Monday went viral on social media for good reason. For those wanting mystery and action in their sci-fi films, this is a great pick for you. The film centers around the future in 2043 where families are limited to only one child as the planet is overpopulated. The government head is portrayed by none other than Glenn Close.
After the birth of septuplets and his daughter’s death, a grandfather hid his seven identical granddaughters and taught them how to survive with limited rations, hiding in an apartment for six days a week. Over the course of their childhoods, the Settman sisters learned to mimic one another and each got a day of the week to live out in the real world as “Karen Settman.” Each sister uses wigs, makeup, and even scars themself when one of the sisters gets hurt to make sure that they are all truly identical so their cover is not blown. Each of the sisters is named after their day of the week in the real world. Unfortunately, their grandfather dies and the sisters are left to fend for themselves.
Chaos, action, and mystery ensue as one of the sisters, Monday, doesn’t return home. Tuesday attempts to retrace her steps while the other sisters do recon at home. Together, the six sisters uncover the secrets of Monday and discover what exactly happened to her all while the government decides to investigate Karen Settman which leads to a massive chase, mystery, deaths, and discovery.
