For fans of space travel, 3022 is an awesome choice. The film stars Omar Epps, Kate Walsh, Miranda Cosgrove, and Angus Macfadyen. In the year 2190, the space station Pangea sets off for Earth and the planet’s very first space colony.

The plot follows four American crew members and their 10-year journey aboard the ship: Captain John Laine (Omar Epps), engineer Jackie Miller (Kate Walsh), Dr. Richard Valin (Angus Macfadyen), and Lisa Brown (Miranda Cosgrove). The movie documents the struggles of space life, isolation, relationships, and basic and not-so-basic space life struggles.

Unfortunately, their problems and mental states cause the team to cancel their mission. A giant explosion took place that damaged the space ship and attempts to contact their ground control team on Earth to aid in their recovery but doesn’t receive a reply. The team soon discovers that Earth was destroyed. Jackie Miller attempts to use a pod to escape and find her daughter, although the planet is clearly destroyed. The team stops her, but their problems get only worse from there. They are barely coping with their own mental problems and slowly failing space ship before suggesting that they all take a pill that would kill themselves. After the suggestion, they witness a spacecraft soars past them. The team discovers three sick French astronauts aboard the shuttle. Two fellow American astronauts died on their journey from the International Space Station. The film only gets more interesting from there.
