7. Outside The Wire

Anthony Mackie stars in this sci-fi action hit, Outside The Wire. The movie takes place in 2036 when a war between Russian insurgents and Ukraine local resistances. The United States deploys its forces to attempt to regain control and peace between the camps. Those U.S. soldiers include a special team of Marines and Gumps, which are robotic soldiers. Unfortunately, forces attack them and the First Lieutenant Harp (portrayed by Damson Idris) launches a Hellfire missile that kills two of his fellow Marines but saves 38 other soldiers.

Although it was for the best, he was punished for his brash action by being sent to a special base, Camp Nathaniel. He is assigned to learn under Captain Leo (Anthony Mackie), unbeknownst to some, the captain is an experiment and is actually a robotic super soldier that is pretending to be a human officer. The pair navigate through Ukraine and a ton of different insurgents and enemy forces.

This film leans more on the military side but it still features the futuristic technology, droids, and action that is similar to a Star Wars movie.

This movie may spark other sequels to become a franchise. “The whole idea was for this to be a franchise,” Mackie told Forbes. “He’s such a cool character, and it’s such a fascinating world, especially with it being in the not-so-distant future. You can have many different spin-offs and ideas that come along with this with both lead characters. I equate Leo, my character, very much to the Winter Soldier in Captain America. Every time there’s a situation, they spin him back up to handle the crime or the situation. You have to inform him of what’s happened, what he’s missed, what’s going on, and then you send him out to save the day.”
