10. The humor

There are plenty of hilarious moments in Game of Thrones history: every time Joffrey got slapped, when Jaime “waved” with his new hand, Hot Pie’s elaborate speech about making gravy and of course any time Tormund goofily stared at Brienne.

In a show full of doom, gloom and blood, there was still plenty to laugh at.

But Star Wars takes the cake with its many moments of absurdity, sarcasm and deadpan humor. The funniest moments include Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, Leia Organa and Han Solo.

Though so much hate was leveled at Jar-Jar Binks following The Phantom Menace’s release, fans agree that one of the funniest lines uttered about the Gungan is from Qui-Gon Jinn, who said “the ability to speak does not make you intelligent.” Too true, Qui-Gon.

There’s also the deadpanning Obi-Wan spews in the prequel films, mostly when he’s complaining about his hatred of flying or chastising Anakin. There’s also the moment when a man tries to sell Obi-Wan death sticks in a nightclub, to which the Jedi uses the Force mind trick to shoo him away repeating “I want to go home and rethink my life.”

Then there is the wittiest, most sarcastic duo of all: Leia and Han. One of the most memorable funny scenes in Star Wars is when Leia and Han trade barbs like “laserbrain” and Han telling Chewie to “laugh it up fuzzball.”

Then, the greatest Star Wars insult of all: “You stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking, nerf herder” delivered by the masterful Carrie Fisher as Leia.

In a thrills- and drama-heavy space epic like Star Wars, there’s still plenty of top-tier laughs.
