There’s some bad news about a highly anticipated game Star Wars fans were hoping to see come out soon. It looks like the LEGO Star Wars: Skywalker Saga game won’t be coming out later this spring after all.
The news was shared by the developer, TT Games, in which they regrettably announced that the game would be delayed indefinitely. Already, the Star Wars LEGO game had no solid release date. As indicated in the graphic that they shared on Twitter, they simply would not be able to meet their “spring release date,” which means we possibly could have seen the game come out anytime between now and late June. But unfortunately, it looks like the date will certainly have to be pushed back further.
Here’s the tweet that TT Games shared this morning to announce the game’s delay:
Star Wars LEGO game: When will it come out?
At this rate, it’s possible we could see a fall release date for the upcoming Star Wars LEGO game.We can’t estimate for certain how much longer it will take developers to round out the game. But, hopefully, the fall will be playing it safe. Of course, no developer studio is perfect — as there have been times where multiple delays occur. Most notoriously, for example, we saw the buggy Cyberpunk 2077 delayed multiple times, going from an April 2020 release date, to September, then November, then again to December.
Luckily, The Skywalker Saga should be no Cyberpunk 2077. But then again, this is a very large revamp of the LEGO Star Wars games basically built “from the ground up,” as IGN writes. So despite this having multiple delays, we’re hopeful this means the game will come out running as smooth as possible, while also making sure the developers will have had plenty of time to work on it without feeling that “crunch time” burn.
So for now, we’ll just have to spend our summer playing with regular LEGOs. And maybe (hopefully) LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be out before the holidays.
Once it’s out, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be out on Windows, the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S.
