Actor John Boyega got the role of a lifetime when he was brought into the Star Wars universe beginning with the sequel film The Force Awakens. Since then, we’ve seen him in the other sequel films The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, and he’s gained so many fans throughout the years just for his portrayal as Finn alone.

Since then, he’s starred in countless other movies and even won a Golden Globe. But of course, it’s always natural to ask “what’s next?” for a star at the top of their fame like Boyega. Well, what if Boyega were to join another franchise that has just as big of a history as Star Wars? How about the DCEU?

Of course, many changes are happening in the DCEU now as movies are scrapped and old movies (*cough*, The Snyder Cut) get a new life. There’s even been talk of a new Superman movie coming, so what if Boyega were to fill those shoes?

Technically, DC has not made any new casting announcements about a new Superman. (It’s still even unclear whether Henry Cavill is officially done or will return as Superman.)

But thanks to artist Subi Özil on Instagram, we’ll have no problem imagining Boyega in the role, as they’ve created the perfect piece of fan art to help us imagine him suiting up as the Man of Steel.

What John Boyega might look like as Superman in the DCEU

In Subi Özil’s Instagram post, which you can see below, the artist has Boyega in an absolutely stunning super suit that we’d love to see on screen if he were cast. His suit is a metallic-like blue, and his “S” emblem and cape are all a dazzling silver color. If we’re looking for a suit to separate him from the Superman movies of the past, this is it.

Boyega as Superman could definitely work. With his character Finn in Star Wars, we’ve seen just how heroic the actor can be on-screen. And it’s a shame, though, that the actor didn’t get as much screen time as he should have once the sequel movies were all said and done. Seriously, it was hinted at that Finn was Force-sensitive, but we never got to see him use his powers.

In the DCEU, the “Force” doesn’t necessarily exist. But Superman is one of the most powerful heroes out there. So we’d finally get to see Boyega really pull off some incredible, heroic moves.

Unfortunately, Boyega recently expressed some discontent with franchise roles. And it could be possible that he’ll stay away from recurring roles for the time being. Still, we can dream. And we have this fan art to thank for that.
