Ahoy, eager travelers! As the days look bright for more travel opportunities to open up in the very near future, Disney Cruise Lines has announced some spectacular details about their newest ship joining their fleet, the Disney Wish.
The details were just announced today, and the Wish is probably the Disney ship that takes the most advantage of all the I.P.s Disney has acquired over the years. Just about every area on this ship is themed to a Disney property, whether it be Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, and even their own Disney Animation studio.
So, first up, Star Wars fans will be delighted to know that Galaxy’s Edge isn’t the only place you can experience hospitality from a galaxy far, far away. For adults only, the Disney Wish will feature a Star Wars-themed lounge called Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge. Here’s how the Disney Parks blog describes this experience, and below, you’ll find a picture of the stunning concept art:
"For the first time on a Disney ship, you will embark on a space-jumping tour of the Star Wars galaxy at Star Wars: Hyperspace Lounge, a high-end bar styled as a luxurious yacht-class spaceship. This richly themed, immersive experience will be reserved for adults every evening, offering interactive tasting experiences and signature beverages inspired by destinations such as Batuu, Tatooine and Mustafar."
As mentioned already, there will also be some new areas themed after the MCU as well. One of the experiences is just for kids. (Sorry, adults!) And it will give the little ones the chance to unleash their inner superhero. Part of Disney’s Oceaneer Club, kids can take part in the Marvel Super Hero Academy, where they can meet some of their favorite heroes, which is said to include Black Panther, Spider-Man, the Wasp, and Ant-Man.
Elsewhere on the ship, there will be interactive dining activities. One of those is the second Marvel experience you’ll find there, called Worlds of Marvel. The details on this are kept tight for now, but somehow your entertainment experience will involve you and your friends and family taking part in a special Marvel mission while you dine.
On top of that, there’s also a Frozen dining experience called Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure, which brings Elsa and the world of Frozen to guests as they experience a totally cool dining show.
And lastly, guests will also get to dine with The Princess and the Frog’s Tiana and co. as part of the 1923 experience, and we’re sure there’ll be plenty of good food with this one if Princess Tiana is involved.
Disney announced quite a lot during this presentation, and the cruise looks like it’s going to quickly become a favorite among all kinds of Disney fans young and old. If the cruise interests you, bookings will open up on May 27, so mark your calendars. And the ship is due to set sail beginning June 9, 2022.
