When we last saw the Bad Batch, the loner squad of clones was working alongside Anakin Skywalker and Rex in the final season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch is set to take place immediately after the end of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, in the era of the Empire while the few surviving Jedi are in hiding and criminals and gangsters are thriving and rising to power.
As a result, Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, and Echo will be fighting for their lives to survive as a band of mercenary clones in an time when clones have lost the status and power they once had.
Disney has announced a lot of familiar faces will be popping up, hinting at a continued fleshing out of the mythology and larger canon.
While no synopsis or episode title for the premiere has officially been released yet, we do know the first episode is going to be 70 minutes long, giving Clone Wars fans starved for new content an extended premiere on Star Wars Day, May the 4th, ahead of the show’s regular Thursday airdate.

As seen in the preview, while the rest of the clones have fallen prey to the behavioral modification of Order 66, the Bad Batch (along with a few other clones like Rex) are actively rebelling against Tarkin and the Empire, painting a target on their backs.
Some other familiar faces will pop up, including Fennec Shand (first introduced in The Mandalorian), and longtime rebel Saw Gerrera. The show is also introducing a child named Omega who may further tie into the clone plot.
