7. Kathryn Hahn as Mon Mothma

While she’d made a handful of television appearances before, Caroline Blakiston first truly made her mark as Marjorie Ferrar in the BBC Television adaptation of Galsworthy’s The Forsyte Saga. Over a decade later, she took on the mantle of Mon Mothma in Return of the Jedi.

Blakiston had to embody grace, confidence, and compassion in her role as the political leader of the Rebel Alliance, and it’s a challenge she more than pulled off. While she has continued to take on various television and film roles in the years since Return of the Jedi, nothing quite stands the test of time like Blakiston’s presence as Mon Mothma.

It would take someone of comparable skill to take on the role today, but few more adequately fit that bill than Kathryn Hahn. While she’s undoubtedly on the radar of fans today for having just portrayed the role of Agatha in WandaVision on Disney Plus, Kathryn Hahn’s resume is truly extensive.

From starring as a grief counselor in multiple seasons of Crossing Jordan to her film credits in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgandy, Step Brothers, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and more, Hahn has understood the assignment at every turn. If there’s anyone from today that needs to be seen as Mon Mothma, it’s definitely Kathryn Hahn.
