Kylo Ren, a.k.a. Ben Solo, is certainly a divisive character in the Star Wars universe. While many people loved his character arc in the sequel series of the Skywalker Saga, others found him to be a bit whiny. And how people felt about Reylo (Kylo and Rey’s ship name) is a whole other story. But if you’re on the side of wanting some more backstory for Ben, you’re not alone.

The character is introduced in Star Wars: The Force Awakens as Kylo Ren (played by Adam Driver), the child of Han Solo and Leia Organa who turned the Dark Side and works for the First Order. And though he tragically kills his own father by the end of the movie, there’s still the potential for him to redeem himself. Throughout the trilogy, Kylo is tempted by the Light Side and eventually sacrifices his own life to save Rey.

Many fans were let down with how Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker concluded Ben’s story, but more than anything I’ve just always been interested in his backstory. We know that he was a student of Luke Skywalker and turned to the Dark Side by Snoke, and I so want to see that play out on screen.

What Finn Wolfhard could look like as a young Ben Solo in Star Wars

Disney Plus is on a roll with their live-action series, with The Book of Boba Fett coming out later this year and others on the way. A TV show or even a movie all about Ben Solo would be awesome, and Finn Wolfhard could definitely play the part with his dark hair and light complexion.

Will Finn Wolfhard play Ben Solo in Star Wars?

As of right now, there have been no legitimate announcements made about Ben Solo returning for a future TV show or movie. There was a rumor back in August 2020, but since then, there haven’t been any reports. However, if a casting call does come about, Wolfhard would be so there! As reported by ComicBook in January 2020, the It actor expressed interest in playing a younger version of Ben while doing a video for GQ.

When replying to a fan’s tweet in the video who said they wanted him to portray a young Ben Solo, Wolfhard stated:

"“It is not just you, I would love to do that. But the series just ended. But, ya know, I’m a free agent, Marvel. And, Disney, I’m around.”"
