Sometimes, when a show or movie introduces a brand new character, it takes a while to warm up to them. Some people were not initially receptive to the animated character Ahsoka, and now she has a cult following. And even the heroes of the sequel trilogy have had their ups and downs when it comes to fandom acceptance.
But when it comes down to a new character that’s unanimously loved by Star Wars fans, it has to be Baby Yoda himself: Grogu. The little character first captivated audiences during the premiere episode of The Mandalorian. And since then, even the most casual Star Wars fans have discovered they just can’t get enough of this 50-year-old, green baby.
And now, the fate of Grogu remains in the air following the season 2 finale of The Mandalorian. At the end, famed Jedi Luke Skywalker came to rescue Grogu and agreed to train the little one. And many are wondering what’s next for Grogu in his journey. How much of him will we be seeing in The Mandalorian now that he and Din Djarin will be separated? Or, will we see him in other Star Wars TV shows, such as The Book of Boba Fett?
Is Grogu in The Book of Boba Fett?
When it comes to The Mandalorian, we’re sure there will be plenty of Grogu in season 3 of the series. But it doesn’t seem like Baby Yoda will appear in The Book of Boba Fett.
There hasn’t been much revealed about the series. But we do know that it will involve Boba Fett himself as well as Fennec Shand, both of whom we saw recently take over Jabba the Hutt’s club after slaying Bib Fortuna. It seems like Boba Fett has made a good home for himself on Tatooine, so that could lend way for him and Baby Yoda to cross paths under a certain probability… if Luke Skywalker is there too.
If Luke does happen to have a Jedi academy or some kind of training center on Tatooine, then that opens up the possibility of Baby Yoda possibly crossing paths with Boba Fett once again. It may surprise Luke to find that the bounty hunter who once worked with the Empire would be siding with the good guys now. But otherwise, it doesn’t seem like Boba Fett and Fennec would have too much of a reason to cross paths with the little guy.
Still, we can always hope. The series will arrive in December 2021, so we’re slowly but surely getting there. And if anything, we’ll for sure see more of Baby Yoda when The Mandalorian season 3 arrives sometime in 2022.
