With a quarter of the season’s episodes released, the overall picture of Star Wars: The Bad Batch seems to be getting a bit clearer. A darker, spiritual successor to Star Wars: The Clone Wars, fans have become engrossed in following Clone Troop 99 in the immediate aftermath of Order 66.
The show is continuing to fill in gaps in the overall Star Wars timeline, following the trend of Disney’s televised extended universe. The fourth episode, “Cornered,” saw the Bad Batch exploring a planet, leading them to cross paths with a young Fennec Shand.
Shand originally appeared in the live-action The Mandalorian played by Ming-Na Wen, who voices her in The Bad Batch as well. While previously, animated characters have made the leap to live-action, this is the first time the reverse has happened.
The timeline of The Bad Batch allows for a lot of fun interactions to occur. While we know that Shand eventually ends up working with a clone (Boba Fett), it’s fun to see her fight and cross paths with the original clone troopers. We can only assume more of these winking cameos will occur throughout the season.
With three-quarters of the season to go, it’s safe to say that Omega plays a huge role in The Bad Batch and the remaining story to be told. While the tensions with Crosshair and the Empire loom large, it seems there may be a greater underlying mystery with the Clones themselves.
However, only time will tell, and you’ll have to tune in to find out what lies ahead in this week’s episode.
