Star Wars characters who should get a spin-off series: Cobb Vanth

Arguably the best episode of the second season of The Mandalorian was the season premiere, which saw Timothy Olyphant portray Cobb Vanth, the self-appointed Marshall of Mos Pelgo on Tatooine.

Vanth protected the small town with a set of Mandalorian armor he bought from a group of Jawas and used it to protect the townsfolk from raiders and outlaws, and teamed up with Din Djarin to defeat a massive Krait Dragon from terrorizing the town in exchange for the armor.

Although he only made an appearance in season 2, Cobb certainly made an impact, and since a prominent actor like Timothy Olyphant was brought in to portray him, it’s likely he will be featured more in the future.

Vanth could very possibly pop up in The Book of Boba Fett series, seeing as both Cobb and Fett reside on Tatooine and Vanth used to don his armor, but it is also possible Vanth could receive his own spin-off series too.

Olyphant portrayed sheriff Seth Bullock on the HBO series Deadwood, which is a very highly touted series, and given that Vanth is a very similar character to Bullock, Lucasfilm could look to create a similar series set in the Star Wars galaxy.

Tatooine is a planet of lawlessness full of raiders and criminals, and Olyphant’s Vanth continuing to protect Mos Pelgo as the galaxy plunges further into chaos could make for some entertaining television.

We’ll have to wait and see what Disney’s plans are, but even if he doesn’t receive his own series, I’d expect to see Cobb Vanth pop up again in the near future.
