Star Wars characters who should get a spin-off series: Mace Windu

One of the stand-out characters from the Star Wars prequels, Jedi Master Mace Windu is a fan-favorite that many people would like to see again in live-action form.

The Jedi Master was last portrayed in live-action by Samuel L. Jackson in 2005’s Revenge of the Sith, where he appeared to have been killed after being betrayed by Anakin Skywalker. He sliced his hand off with his lightsaber before Palpatine struck him with lightning, sending him falling down a skyscraper.

While Windu was seemingly killed in Revenge of the Sith, there are many fan theories that he may have survived his fall and went into hiding following Order 66, and Samuel L. Jackson has stated in the past that he was open to returning to the franchise.

Given the fanfare around Windu and the fact Lucasfilm is bringing Ewan McGregor back for an Obi-Wan Kenobi series, the idea of Windu returning isn’t too far-fetched as some may initially think.

Windu could easily be given his own mini-series, following him hiding out in the outer rim during the age of the Empire while being hunted by Inquisitors or even Darth Vader, the very man who turned on him.

Beyond that, Windu could be given his own prequel series, played by a new, younger actor portraying the Jedi as a young man training in the ways of the Force before becoming the fearsome warrior he was shown as in the prequel trilogy.

It may not be the most obvious choice,  but I wouldn’t rule out seeing Mace Windu again in Star Wars in the future.
