Star Wars characters who should get a spin-off series: Young Qui-Gon Jinn

Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn was a very popular character of the prequel trilogy, despite only being featured in the first movie, The Phantom Menace.

When first introduced to the franchise, Qui-Gon appeared as a fully formed and seasoned Jedi, going on missions for the Jedi Order along with his apprentice, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

During his younger years, Qui-Gon was trained by former Jedi turned Sith Lord, Count Dooku. However, beyond that, not much is known about Qui-Gon prior to the first prequel trilogy movie in the current canon.

Seeing as he was such a popular character with fans in the prequel trilogy, which was given a mixed response, and that he was trained by a very prominent Jedi/Sith Lord, a show centered around Qui-Gon during his younger days could receive a lot of fan interest.

There are several stories from Legends that could serve as the inspiration for a young Qui-Gon series, and it could also show his master’s fall to the Dark Side as the two travel together before Qui-Gon becomes a Jedi himself and Dooku defects to join the Sith.

A series with its plot focused along the lines of that could do justice to a fan-favorite character who has been too scarcely used, and could make for some very engaging television.
