Star Wars characters who should get a spin-off series: Darth Vader

Let’s start this list off with the big one.

Arguably the most recognizable character in all of Star Wars, everyone’s favorite Sith Lord Darth Vader is a prime candidate to receive his own spin-off series.

A fan-favorite character, Vader is one of the most interesting characters in the franchise, with Anakin Skywalker’s fall to the dark side, his transformation into Vader, and his eventual redemption being the overarching story of the first two movie trilogies.

Vader’s inner struggle and personal issues resulting from the death of his wife Padme and his betrayal of the Jedi Order make for an incredibly complex character. These elements of his character have been touched upon in a lot of expansion material, but seldom in the movies.

Creating a mini-series centered around Vader set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope could allow for a more in-depth look at his struggles, and there certainly would be demand for it, even from the modern audience.

Vader’s hallway fight against rebel troops in the climax of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was arguably the most lauded part of the movie. Beyond that, popular YouTuber Star Wars Theory’s Darth Vader fan film focuses on his inner struggle during this time and was incredibly well-received.

With a character as popular as Darth Vader and with Hayden Christensen, the actor who portrayed Anakin Skywalker in the prequel trilogy, returning to the franchise for the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series, a Darth Vader mini-series seems like a no brainer.
