Star Wars characters who should get a spin-off series: Master Yoda

One of the most popular and recognizable characters in the Star Wars franchise, Jedi Master Yoda is also one of those with the least developed backstory. As such, a Yoda-focused series could be a great way to do a deeper dive into the legendary Jedi’s past.

While most major Star Wars characters have an incredibly detailed backstory, much of Yoda’s has yet to be developed in canon, to the point that his species in the galaxy remains unknown.

At the time of his death in Return of the Jedi, Yoda states that he was over 900 years old, and we already know that he had been an active Jedi for centuries, as he is featured as a Jedi Master in the High Republic series.

We also know that whatever his species is, they all age very slowly. As shown in The Mandalorian, Grogu, a Force user who is the same species as Yoda, is 50 years old, yet appears as a young baby.

A Yoda-centered story has the rare ability in Star Wars to be set an just about any time period stretching over centuries, either focusing on Yoda’s time training as a young Jedi, his time during the High Republic, the events leading to the prequels, the Galactic civil war, or even the Rebellion prior to his death.

With Yoda, the possibilities for his story are endless, and if the showrunners get creative, they could even craft a story stretching multiple centuries with him, linking all these different eras of Star Wars together.
