Star Wars characters who should get a spin-off series: Emperor Palpatine

The original big bad of the Star Wars universe, Emperor Palpatine was the man pulling strings behind the scenes for years, and in a way, is responsible for the entirety of the Skywalker Saga, having deep ties to just about every major event over the three trilogies.

Originally born Sheev Palpatine on the planet Naboo, the future was a secret Sith Lord known as Darth Sidious, who joined the Galactic Senate representing his home world before eventually becoming a chancellor and instigating the Galactic Civil War.

From there he grasped emergency power, having the Republic’s clone army destroy the Jedi Order before forming the Galactic Empire with himself as the ruler.

Needless to say, the Emperor’s rise to power, along with his secret training in the ways of the Sith would certainly be an interesting story to follow, and a series centered around the young Palpatine would be something very different than the typical Star Wars shows.

It would provide for a great opportunity to see how a Sith Lord was trained firsthand, and would also allow for Palpatine’s former master, Darth Plagueis, to make his debut in live-action form.

With the Emperor being one of the most important characters in the Star Wars franchise, a mini-series centered around him in his younger years training and plotting his rise to power before finally killing his master and seizing it all for himself is a story too good to pass up.
