Star Wars characters who should get a spin-off series: Kyle Katarn

This name should be familiar to any fans of Star Wars video games from the 1990s and early 2000s, as Kyle Katarn was the main protagonist of the Jedi Knight game series, as well as featuring in several Star Wars novels.

Although currently non-canon, Katarn has a very interesting backstory in Star Wars Legends, and could serve as the inspiration to be canonized into a Disney Plus series just as characters like Grand Admiral Thrawn have been in the past.

In Legends, Katarn was an ex-imperial officer turned mercenary after learning the Empire was responsible for the death of his father. After the fall of the Empire, Katarn would go on to learn he was Force-sensitive and began training to become a Jedi, eventually meeting Luke Skywalker and becoming a close friend of his.

With this already established lore and name recognition from the Jedi Knight games, Katarn could be brought back into the franchise in a number of different ways, either as a hired mercenary or a Jedi Knight.

With The Mandalorian running in this same time period in the aftermath of the fall of the Empire, Katarn could easily be folded back into the Star Wars franchise, and could provide it with some fresh new stories.
