Star Wars characters who should get a spin-off series: Rey Skywalker

While the Star Wars sequel trilogy received a mixed response from fans, the character of Rey and her story was one of the highlights of it, and though the sequel trilogy is complete, there still are many interesting stories left to tell with her.

Coming out of The Rise of Skywalker, Rey finally has learned of her origin and who her parents were, but also is now dealing with the death of Ben Solo, who died as a result of her final battle with the Emperor.

With Rey now set on a path to rebuild the Jedi Order and raise a new generation of Jedi Knights, there are many different directions to take her character in, and a series could help to flesh her out more as a person.

Not much has been written about the state of the galaxy following the events of The Rise of Skywalker, so a new story could be written and could go in any direction without restraint.

The story could easily time jump several years in the future and revolve around Rey raising the next generation of Jedi, passing on the teachings Luke and Leia gave her. This could introduce new young Jedi into the franchise and set a new template for Star Wars to build on going forward.

Beyond all that, as Rey has survived as Disney’s poster child for Star Wars with her prominently being featured in their theme parks and promotional material, I think there is a high probability we’ll see the character again in some form sooner rather than later.
