Star Wars characters who should get a spin-off series: Darth Maul

Another fan-favorite Sith Lord, the character of Darth Maul is a prime candidate to receive a spin-off series, and he has the flexibility to have one set in several different time periods.

Originally debuting in The Phantom Menace in 1999, Maul appeared to have been killed after being defeated by Obi-Wan Kenobi in the movie’s climax. However, it was revealed in The Clone Wars that Maul survived, and would go on to wreak havoc in the galaxy for years to come.

In the years following The Phantom Menace, Maul would receive a pair of cybernetic legs, hunt around for revenge against Obi-Wan, take over Mandalore, escape Order 66, and climb to the top of the Crimson Dawn Crime Syndicate, all before finally locating an elderly Kenobi on Tatooine and being killed in battle just prior to the events of A New Hope.

Naturally, there are several routes a Maul series could take, either being an origin story for his set prior to The Phantom Menace and being trained by Palpatine, or set during the years of the Empire, where he served as the head of Crimson Dawn.

Regardless of what route Disney could potentially take, I’m sure many fans would be interested in Darth Maul returning for his own series.
