Star Wars characters who should get a spin-off series: Young Han Solo

Like father like son, more adventures of a young Han Solo in the form of a Disney Plus series is another direction that Lucasfilm could go in, and in this case, they already have an actor cast to play the role.

Alden Ehrenreich portrayed the titular character in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and although it performed low at the box office, the movie itself was fairly well-received, with Ehrenreich doing a fine job portraying the young smuggler.

There has been a growing fan campaign to get a sequel to Solo produced, with the hashtag #MakeSolo2Happen being pushed by various Star Wars fan podcasts and groups.

While a full-on theatrical sequel may not be in the cards at the moment, a Disney Plus series certainly remains a possibility, and with a character like Han Solo, there are a lot of great stories with him left to tell.

Solo: A Star Wars Story showed how he got his start, how he met Chewbacca and got the Millennium Falcon, but there is so much more that could be explored between then and when he first met Luke and joined the rebellion.

A Han Solo series could show more adventures with Donald Glover’s Lando and further develop their rocky friendship, confronting his old love interest Qi’ra for turning on him and Chewbacca, or how he became in debt with Jabba the Hutt.

Simply put, there are many stories left that could be told about the galaxy’s most notorious smuggler, and a Disney Plus series may be the best place to tell them.
