Star Wars: The Bad Batch continues to follow Clone Troop 99 and Omega across space in the immediate fall out of Order 66 after the events of Revenge of the Sith.
With the seventh episode due this week, The Bad Batch is almost halfway through its season. Last week’s “Decommissioned” saw the clones fully commit to working as mercenaries under Cid in exchange for her information and protection, leading them to cross paths with familiar faces from The Clone Wars once again.
As the Bad Batch hunted down a droid for Cid, they found themselves face-to-face with the Martez Sisters, who first appeared alongside Ahsoka in the final season of The Clone Wars before the one-time padawan (temporarily) reunited with her master.
A benefit of the ongoing expansion of the Star Wars extended universe is seeing more familiar faces crop up across series, allowing an already dense universe to feel even more lived-in and realized. It also allows for new combinations of characters to interact.
With multiple instances like this in the first six episodes of The Bad Batch, who knows what cameos may lie in store for the remaining episodes.
Surprisingly, the Martez Sisters were revealed to be Rebel operatives (allegedly), once again revealing a theme throughout The Bad Batch about the clones being forced to choose sides.
However, Wrecker also experienced a bad headache in “Decommissioned,” possibly foreshadowing a future, disastrous glitch with his behavioral modification chip. And if it happens to Wrecker, who else might it happen to?
There’s only one way to find out. You’ll have to tune in and watch.
