Good news, fans of The Mandalorian! Season 3 is still happening, and we know it will be well worth the wait! When we last saw Din Djarin he was saying his heartfelt goodbyes to Grogu as the little Jedi will be trained by none other than Luke Skywalker himself.
As the tearful ending of season 2 left many wondering how he’ll move on without his adorable sidekick, several questions remain including the situation with Bo-Katan and the Darksaber, and if Moff Gideon is truly unable to cause any more harm now that he has been captured.
Perhaps these will be the least of our Mando’s worries. While a specific season 3 release date remains unknown, as well as any trailers, what isn’t is that Giancarlo Esposito (Moff Gideon) will be returning.
On top of that, Sophie Thatcher (from the TV series Chicago Med and Quibi’s When the Streetlights Go On) will be joining the cast. So, when can we expect to see them all together next season?
When is The Mandalorian season 3 coming to Disney+?
According to a report from Collider, The Mandalorian season 3 should be set to film later this year. And they believe the season will arrive in late 2022.
A possibility as to why season 3 is arriving next year is because The Book of Boba Fett is set to arrive in December 2021. A theory, according to a GamesRadar article says, “The Mandalorian season 3, which entered pre-production as The Book of Boba Fett entered production, therefore looks to set to arrive in 2022, once the Fett spin-off has stopped airing.”
Perhaps the events that occur in The Book of Boba Fett will directly affect what happens in the next season of The Mandalorian. But we’ll just have to wait and see how the two series link together!
