Most of Star Wars’ recent projects have been tightly under wraps. But nonetheless, we have seen leaks and other bits of information come about for some of the upcoming Star Wars projects.

That has been mostly true, save for Star Wars: Visions, the upcoming anime anthology series coming to Disney+. The series was announced back in December at Disney’s Investor Day presentation. And we know that it’s coming out this year. But that’s all Disney-Lucasfilm has given us until now.

Announced just today, Anime Expo Lite and Lucasfilm announced Star Wars will have a presence at the con this year. There will be a Star Wars: Visions panel on Saturday, July 3. And included in that will be an exclusive sneak peek preview of the anime series.

Here’s the full details on the panel:

Event: Star Wars: Visions – Sneak Preview
Date: July 3, 2021
Time: 3 p.m. PST
Duration: 30 minutes

"Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: Visions is an upcoming anthology of animated shorts celebrating Star Wars through the lens of the world’s best anime creators and storytellers. Tune in for a sneak peek that will leave you excited for this all-new vision of the galaxy far, far away!Join host and pop culture maven Chastity Vicencio and Lucasfilm’s Jacqui Lopez (Executive Producer), James Waugh (Executive Producer), Josh Rimes (Executive Producer), and Qubic Pictures’ Justin Leach (Co-Executive Producer) and Kanako Shirasaki (Producer) for an inside look at Star Wars: Visions before the series debuts on Disney+ later this year."

How to attend Anime Expo Lite

Anime Expo Lite will be held online this year from July 3-4. But in order to take part in the programming, there is a small fee. For just $5, you will get ticketed access to both days of the online event. And with that, you should be able to watch the panel and sneak peek for Star Wars: Visions. After the event concludes, ticket holders will be able to rewatch programming on video on demand from July 5 to July 16.

There’s no telling if the sneak peek clip will go online for free afterward. So if you can spare the $5 (and it is going to a good cause, benefiting the Hate Is A Virus commUNITY Action Fund), then it may be worth the cost.

What to expect from the Star Wars: Visions panel

Panel-wise, we’ll get a brief sneak peek at Star Wars: Visions. This more than likely means a trailer is on the way, and it will showcase a variety of the episodes that will be airing — giving us a better idea of what to expect from this series.

It’s also possible the sneak peek may be just a clip from one of the episodes. But either way, it’s nice to know we’ll finally be getting some information about this upcoming series. And hopefully we’ll get an official release date as well!
