8. Nick Fury

While the Jedi Order fields countless fighters, it also needs one central leader. During the Galactic Republic, that was Master Yoda. To the MCU, it is Nick Fury. The former director of S.H.I.E.L.D and eventual founder of the Avengers knows his way into the right places and the right people to find, an essential part of preserving the Jedi Order. Think about times when the Jedi have faced great strife or challenges, Nick Fury is the person I’d want to work through it.

At the same time, Fury’s mission has never been about himself. He joined S.H.I.E.L.D. to protect his country in the first place and aimed to do the same as threats became greater upon his long journey of creating the Avengers. He hasn’t shied away from the front lines either, challenging Loki’s attempt to control New York City or sitting right in the middle of the Battle of Sokavia. Of course, he even called Captain Marvel into action to take the fight back to Thanos.

Fury can be a hard figure to decode and tends to take more drastic measures than the Jedi may like, but he also has a tremendous drive and skill at doing what is necessary. There is a reason why the greatest superheroes have been entrusted to his will and the Jedi Order could certainly use a dedicated leader like himself. And, hey, it doesn’t hurt that Samuel L. Jackson already plays one of the best Jedi masters himself.
