7. Captain Marvel

Before he became the Nick Fury described above, instead strutting around as a S.H.I.E.L.D. operative in the 1990s, one of the first people Fury encountered was Captain Marvel. Fury led Carol Danvers, dropped into Earth with no memory of her past, on the discovery of who she really was.

And that superhero is a force to be reckoned with. Captain Marvel is one of the most powerful individuals in the galaxy as her cosmic abilities have almost no limit. Danvers has superhuman strength, speed and flight, but jacked up to level 10. Considering her background as a military pilot, Danvers was the perfect template for cosmic powers to be tacked onto. And she used those powers to both overpower Ronan the Accuser and lead the charge against Thanos when she was called upon. Danvers may have been absent for some time, as she was busy aiding other planets, but became Earth’s mightiest hero when she needed to be.

Danvers initially comes off as a challenging person to work with due to her scarred background, but that same stubbornness also contributes to her determination. Part of that also stems from her misguided upbringing with the Kree, one that she rightfully put behind when finding her identity. And, above all, Danvers has continued to grow alongside her powers, which she uses solely to help other planets in need, which in one particular instance, happened to be Earth.

With her troubled history and doubters dismissed, Danvers is primed to take on a prominent role in protecting Earth for the future and grow into just the character a Jedi master should strive to be.
